We are putting together a calendar of activities, events and webinars that our member organisations are doing during COVID-19. Please see the information below:

Ongoing New Events

Throughout the COVID - 19 crisis, DFI Member Organisations have continue delivering frontline services where possible, and where needed the most. Community based services for people with disabilities, family members, carers and friends have been maintained through innovative practies of online delivery of resources - all available direct through each organisation website, click here to access.   

Some examples of this working delivered by our members:

Enable Ireland  therapist and support workers have been working hard at creative ways of supporting children and adults and their families from home during this time. Resources are available here for families to access.

MS Ireland have a range of online services and supports available to access through their website. This includes direct advice from Clinical Nurse Specialist Máire Hayes who answers questions about MS and COVID-19 in this series of videos

Aware has started a new phone-in Support & Self Care Group as well as a new Zoom Support & Self Care Group available from their website every Tuesday and Friday - find out more information from their websitehttps://www.aware.ie/support/support-groups/#Zoom

8th-14th: is Carers Week , which will take place virtually this year. More details will become available on their website www.carersweek.ie

October 2020

03rd: Dyspraxia / DCD Ireland Summit 2020 "From Practice to Research and Back Again: Addressing the Needs of Children with DCD". Keynote speaker is Professor Helene Polatajko - Prof. Helene Polatajko is a Professor at the University of Toronto, in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy Faculty.

30th: Hallowe'en Fright Night Drimnagh Castle - Each year, WALK hosts the scariest 'fright night' of the year in Drimnagh Castle.  

November 2020

6-8:  DEBRA Ireland's Kerry Challenge involves three days of trekking through the beautiful, challenging Dingle Peninsula (20-25km per day).

December 2020

7-8: Every year, since 2013, WALK transforms Drimnagh Castle in to a Christmas Winter Wonderland.This is an opportunity for service users and staff of WALK to meet the people in our local community and many great times, stories and memories have been shared at this event.
