DFI Community Response

Our Community team are working with their network of contacts across community to:

  • ensure people with disabilities, and disability services, are included in local crisis planning,
  • gather important information about how the crisis is affecting people on the ground (which helps to inform the work our policy team with national decision makers),
  • advise Government on how local community responses can be best coordinated at a county level,
  • to help community response fora identify people with disabilities, who are not linked to services, and may be vulnerable,
  • to ensure communication from local response fora are accessible to people with disabilities in the community

Our network of contacts include Local Authorities, Public Participation Network’s (PPN’s), Local Development Companies or Partnerships and other key stakeholders. DFI also sit on a number of local County response teams.
