UN CRPD Local Level (1)

This year, we are undertaking a project exploring the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) at local level, specifically within the structures of local authorities.

Following a public tender process, we are delighted to announce that Dr Mary Keogh and Dr Charles O’Mahony have been commissioned to conduct this research on our behalf.

The research project, which commenced this month, aims to identify good practice examples and gaps within structural approaches to UN CRPD implementation. It will also examine approaches in other jurisdictions as well as identifying existing fora, structures and stakeholders who currently, or have the potential to, support and/or lead UN CRPD implementation at a local level.

For more information contact Dr Emer Begley, our Director of Advocacy and Inclusion.
