Save the date for the #PurpleLights22 campaign on 3 December

The one month countdown is underway to this year's Purple Lights campaign.
The Purple Lights campaign sees Government buildings local and national, major companies, civic and educational institutions are all turning purple to celebrate the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3rd.
The Purple Lights founder, disability activist, Gary Kearney says, “This campaign is something very close to my heart. It's a day of celebration and awareness where we shine a light on disability. I am really looking forward to seeing this year's engagement with the campaign. I have no doubt that we will have a wonderful response to the day."

International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2022
The annual observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) on 3 December was proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly resolution 47/3. The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
The theme this year is “Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world“.
