“Home from Home” MDI’s self catering apartments consists of a four bedroom self catering apartment. Three of the four bedrooms have ceiling track hoists and two are en-suite. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and a lounge / recreation area.
This bedroom has two single beds, is ensuite and has a ceiling track hoist.
This bedroom is complete with a king sized Hi-Lo electric bed and a ceiling track hoist. This room is not en-suite however, there is a fully wheelchair accessible shower and bathroom across the hallway from this bedroom, which can be accessed directly by using inter-linked ceiling track hoists.
NB: Members are advised to bring their own slings. However, please note that the twixie clip slings do not work on this hoist system.
This bedroom is complete with two Hi-Lo electric single beds and a ceiling track hoist. This room is not en-suite and the bathroom and shower can be accessed directly by using inter-linked ceiling track hoists.“Home from Home” is a self catering facility.
The kitchen is stocked with the following equipment:
- Blender & Liquidiser
- Clothes Horse
- Cutlery & Crockery
- Electric Double Steamer
- Electric Oven / Hob
- Electric Kettle
- Iron & Ironing board
- Pot’s & Pans
- Sandwich maker
- Tumbler Drye
- Washing Machine
On arrival, the kitchen will be stocked with the following items: Milk, Sugar, Tea, Coffee, Salt & Pepper.
Bed linen is provided in each bedroom (sheets, duvet& pillows) All our beds are profile beds. Bedrooms 1, 2 & 3 & all bathrooms are equipped with ceiling track hoists.
NB: Members are advised to bring their own slings. However, please note that the twixie clip slings do not work on our hoist system. MDI will have slings available, please advise in advance if you need to book one.

How to find MDI:
Take the N4 (City) Exit and after 2nd set of traffic lights take the first slip road, signposted Chapelizod. Past the West County Hotel on your right and we’re the first house after the traffic lights on the right (on the corner of Kylemore Road and Lucan Road).
From City Centre:
Drive down the quays towards Heuston Station. Turn right over bridge at Heuston Station and then left. Continue straight until you come to Chapelizod. Turn left at traffic lights, over the bridge and follow the road round to the right. At the next set of traffic lights, we are the last house on the left (on the corner of Lucan Road and Kylemore Road ).
