Member Engagement at HSE National Service Plan Briefing
January 28 2026, 04:36pm

We started the year with a high-impact member meeting on 6 January, focusing on the HSE National Service Plan 2026.
The session featured a presentation from HSE Assistant National Director for Access and Integration of Disability Services, Aoife O'Donoghue, who walked members through the HSE's key targets for the year.
The presentation highlighted the HSE’s intent to tackle unmet needs across Day Services, Home Support, and Residential Care, while continuing the reform programme for Children's Services.
The session provided a vital platform for members to engage directly with the HSE on its plans for the year ahead. The questions raised by our members focused on four critical themes:
Rising demand: Addressing the growing complexity of need and the cost of delivering services.
Accountability: Calling for clear targets and monitoring to ensure funding commitments are met.
Funding mechanisms: Seeking clarity on administrative processes, including payment for WRC pay deals and auto-enrolment.
Communication: Emphasising the need for coordination across the new Health Regions.
We will continue to work closely with the HSE to ensure these member concerns are addressed as the 2026 plan is rolled out.
