Bringing advocates together

Earlier this month, 27 brilliant advocates from RehabCare and the National Learning Network travelled from across Ireland to DFI to take part in DFI’s Media Training for Advocates. 

The energy in the room was electric.

Facilitated by DFI Communications Manager Tom Meagher, the workshop was lively, hands-on, and full of practical tools for disability advocacy.

Stories that stick

Participants worked in teams to shape their own messages based on their lived experience. They also created some of the wittiest and memorable soundbites we've heard in a long while. 

Lights, camera, advocacy

They even stepped in front of the camera for mock media interviews, honing their skills to speak with confidence and clarity putting those skills to the test in real-time.

They expertly navigated curveball questions and explored how to turn lived experience into powerful advocacy.
