Erbs Palsy

We are pleased to announce that Erb's Palsy Ireland has joined the DFI network.

Founded in 1998 by Mary and Karel Verbruggen, Erb's Palsy Ireland was established to provide information and support to families affected by Erb's Palsy, a condition typically resulting from birth trauma that affects the brachial plexus nerves, leading to varying degrees of arm paralysis.

The organisation aims to achieve better recognition and understanding of the nature, causes, and proper treatment of the condition.

Erb's Palsy Ireland collaborates with medical professionals to improve understanding and treatment for Erb's cases in Ireland. Notably, they have welcomed the introduction of a specialised Erb's clinic at the Central Remedial Clinic (CRC) in Clontarf, Dublin, which brings a coordinated approach to the treatment of Erb's cases in Ireland. The CRC has a team consisting of a neurologist, orthopaedic surgeon, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and psychologist.

By joining DFI, Erb's Palsy Ireland brings valuable insights and advocacy efforts to our collective mission of promoting inclusion and support for individuals with disabilities across Ireland.
