Citizens Information Board (CIB) provides information for all citizens

The Citizens Information Board is the national agency responsible for supporting the provision of information, advice and advocacy on social services and for the provision of the Money Advice and Budgeting Service.

Citizens Information Phone Service

The Citizens Information Phone Service (CIPS) can be contact by dialing 0761 07 4000.  This service is funded and supported by the Citizens Information Board.

The Citizens Information Phone Service operates Monday-Friday, 9am-8pm (excluding public holidays). Calls are charged at national call rates. Calls from mobile phones may incur additional charges.

CIPS also operates a Live Advisor instant chat service.  Live Advisor is available between the hours of 9am and 5pm (Monday to Friday) and is targeted specifically toward people with hearing and speech difficulties and to others who have difficulty communicating by telephone.

Citizens Information Drop in Centres

Citizens Information Service (CISs) have over 250 locations to provide the face-to-face service to the public.  Citizens Information Services provide free, impartial and confidential information. 

Each Citizens Information Service covers a geographical area, either country-wide or part of an urban area, and delivers its services through a network of Citizens Information Centres (CICs). Details of these centres are available here:
